God of War Ragnarok has “flawless performance” according to Digital Foundry

Silky smooth, like a maxed-out PC port.

God of War Ragnarok has “flawless performance” according to a technical review performed by Digital Foundry.

Focusing on the PS5 version of the upcoming title, Digital Foundry opened its review by calling Sony Santa Monica’s sequel “like a maxed-out PC port with flawless performance”.

God of War: Ragnarök feels unbelievably polished, even in its pre-release form,” wrote John Linneman. “There are effectively no stutters, hitches or any other weirdness. I’ve encountered no bugs or visual glitches and everything feels polished to perfection. It may not be pushing the technology envelope, but the presentation is so beautifully realized and tightly put together it’s hard not to be impressed.”

Linneman continues on to say that Ragnarok feels like “a natural evolution” of the 2018 PS4 original, adding in new details and visual effects onto familiar locations. He also goes super technical, so we’d suggest giving his assessment a read (or watching it below).

God of War Ragnarok heads to both PS4 and PS5 — though you’d be better playing it on the latter, if you’ve got the console — from 9 November.
