God of War Ragnarok gets new game plus mode

Need a greater challenge?

God of War Ragnarok has just added a new game plus mode that ups its level cap and adds new armour and enchantments.

New equipment, an increased level cap, new Enchantments – all this and more is introduced with God of War Ragnarök’s NG+ mode,” Sony said in a new post.

“Your equipment, weapons (including the Draupnir Spear), and skills will carry over from your previous save, so you’ll be able to use your entire arsenal from the beginning of your journey,” Sony continued. “Please note that you will not start the game with access to Sonic and Hex arrows. All areas requiring either those arrows or the Draupnir Spear to access will not unlock until you have reached the point in the main questline in which they become available via the story.”

The new game plus level cap means players will be able to convert all Level 9 equipment into new Plus versions with additional levels of progression. The cap is joined by myriad new armour pieces and enchantments including badge and stat boosts alongside nerfing burdens that add greater challenge.

Finally, an expanded Niflheim Arena will add new enemies and companions.

Players will need to complete the game at least one time before trying new game plus mode, of course.

God of War Ragnarok is available now on PS4 and PS5.
