Gears of War 4: Marcus Fenix’s son takes the lead

Game Informer today reported on a bunch of new details surrounding the upcoming Gears of War 4.

The shooter is set 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 and stars Marcus Fenix’s son, JD.

JD is joined by Kait Diaz and Delmont Walker, and all three characters are playable. The trio survive a terrifying “night in the woods” in the game’s opening, though Gears 4 will apparently reveal details of a “classified incident” that both Fenix and Walker will involved in. This can all be done in two-player couch co-op.

Gears 4 is said to include new systems like close-cover melee and will make use of the Xbox One’s power to render savage windstorms across a planet named Sera.

Gears of War 4 is expected later in the year on Xbox One and Windows PC.
