Gears of War 4 free-to-play this coming weekend

Gears of War 4 will be free-to-play this weekend, Microsoft has advised.

The catch is, it’s part of Xbox Live Gold’s Free Play Days, meaning players will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to be able to jump in.

The free play period runs from 7.01 pm AEDT on 1 February until 6.59 pm AEDT on 4 February. Everything seems to be up for grabs during the free-play period, including Gears 4‘s story and multiplayer modes.

Gears of War 4 is currently available on Windows PC and Xbox One — and is part of the Xbox Game Pass program, so subscribers might already have ‘free’ access to the game and not realise it.
