Gears Tactics Xbox One release coming “later this year”

Gears Tactics Xbox One release is coming “later this year,” according to developer The Coalition.

In a new post asserting that “Gears Tactics was developed at its core as an authentic PC-first experience, a foundation that was fostered across teams at The Coalition and Splash Damage in the game’s design focus on strategic game mechanics, a technical build optimized across PCs and intricate gameplay controls for mouse and keyboard,” it was confirmed those on console will see a release sometime in 2020.

Moreover, The Coalition confirmed that those who buy a qualifying “Intel Core i5 processor-based device or higher” will gain free access to Gears Tactics on PC.

Gears Tactics heads to Windows PC via Windows 10 and Steam on 28 April; it’s available on the former as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription program.
