Gaming4Life Twitch stream raising funds for bushfire relief

The Gaming4Life Twitch streaming marathon will dedicate its 2020 funds to the Sony Foundation Bushfire Appeal and Aussie bushfire relief.

Any Twitch streamer is able to take part between 1-23 February, though registration is required beforehand. Participating streamers can also potentially win “an enticing range of prizes from Sony Foundation’s supporters that include Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia (PlayStation) and Sony Australia, plus the opportunity to be in the running to win the major prize, being an all-expenses paid holiday at Club Med Bali,” Sony confirmed.

Update: Sony also confirmed it will be hosting its own livestreams during the event, as follows:

  • 15 February: Media Molecule from 3.00 am – 5.00 am AEDT
  • 20th February: Naughty Dog from 5.30am – 7.30am AEDT
  • 21st February: Insomniac Games’ President and Founder, Ted Price, from 8.00 am – 9.30 am AEDT
  • 22nd February: Sid Shuman and Shuhei Yoshida team up for a joint stream (time TBD)

“We know many people in the gaming community in Australia, and around the world, want to contribute to the Bushfire Relief efforts in a meaningful way. Gaming4Life 2020 is Sony Foundation’s way of bringing this community together to make a significant impact to aid the recovery of young people affected during this time of national crisis,” Sophie Ryan, CEO of the Sony Foundation, said.

“The Twitch community never fails to amaze us by their continued generosity and we would like to thank all those who will take part, either streaming or donating, as every bit helps.”

The Sony Foundation Bushfire Appeal will focus on the delivery of youth-focused recovery projects, it confirmed. To learn more, or to donate directly, you can do so here.
