Frogwares now sole publisher of The Sinking City

A long-running dispute with Nacon has been concluded.

Frogwares has concluded a long-running dispute with Nacon and is now the sole publisher of The Sinking City.

The dispute has been running for close to four years, with Frogwares claiming that Nacon withheld milestone payments and royalties. In February 2021, Frogwares told customers not to purchase The Sinking City from Steam, claiming Nacon had “illegally” uploaded a hacked PC version to the popular platform.

Taking to Steam in 2024, Frogwares shared the latest developments in the saga.

“Frogwares is now the sole publisher of The Sinking City on all platforms, including Steam,” it wrote. “We’re happy to finally put this whole thing behind us, and we look forward to sharing more news about the future of the franchise down the line.”

It’s not all good news though — because of the change, old game saves will not be compatible with the current version of The Sinking City on Steam.

“We’re keeping the old version only for a limited time,” Frogwares continued. “Please, consider finishing your playthrough before February 28, 2024!”

Alongside this news comes details of a new piece of DLC titled Merciful Madness.

“We will also release a new DLC, Merciful Madness, but please keep in mind that it will only work with the new version of the game,” said Nacon. “If you don’t want to replay the game from scratch to access the DLC, you will be able to download the prepared saves that will take you straight to the start of the Merciful Madness quests.”
