Forza Horizon 5 offers ASL and BSL sign language support

When everybody plays, we all win.

Forza Horizon 5 now includes American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) support.

A free in-game update distributed yesterday has included support for both sign languages when it comes to Horizon 5‘s in-game cinematics.

“The update includes actors from the deaf and hard of hearing community signing in parts of the story between driving, such as jumping into challenges, getting ready for a race, meeting other players and racing across Mexico while planes fly overhead,” Microsoft said in a blog post.

Playground Games’ Mike Brown furthered that accessibility remains an ongoing focus for his team.

“I think it’s easy to come through the development of a game like this and start to think that maybe you’re an expert in the field of accessibility,” he said. “I think that we have to have real humility and the ability to keep going, asking questions and trying to be better.”

Forza Horizon 5 is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series S & X, also part of Xbox Game Pass. We reviewed it here.
