Fortress Sydney coming to Sydney’s CBD

Fortress Melbourne is getting a little sister!

Fortress Sydney has been teased by the proprietors of the Melbourne-based Fortress Melbourne, a hub for all things video games, Esports, board games, roleplaying and everything in between.

At present, the Fortress Sydney Twitter account has a shiny new logo and an address: 28 Broadway, Chippendale NSW.

That places the new venue just south of Central Station in the Sydney CBD, and coincidentally near the offices of the Australian headquarters of the likes of Ubisoft and PlayStation.

As we’ve covered in the past, Fortress Melbourne is decked out with the latest Alienware PCs, consoles and has a ton of board games on hand. It also runs several roleplaying sessions, a perfect fit for its medeval-styled tavern.

“Melbourne was our first – you might call it [a] prototype,” said Fortress CEO Jon Satterley. “Fortress Sydney will be the jewel in our crown. It will be an awe-inspiring new ‘home of games’ – the epitome of everything we have worked towards. The ultimate statement in live games culture entertainment.”

The facility will have a 1,000 person capacity spread across four levels. It’s expected to open in the summer of 2023.

We’ll have more on Fortress Sydney as news is made available. Those eager for direct updates can register for them here.

Fortress Melbourne is open now, located within the Melbourne CBD’s Emporium Melbourne.
