Fable franchise has “lots of places” to go but none are planned, says Xbox’s Spencer

Xbox head Phil Spencer says the Fable franchise has “lots of places to go”, but nothing’s currently planned.

Spencer made the confirmation over Twitter last night.

Microsoft cancelled Fable Legends, a game in development by Lionhead Studios, back in March last year. Lionhead Studios was then officially shuttered in May 2017. Reports immediately followed that Microsoft refused to sell Lionhead Studios in an effort to retain the Fable IP… which now is sitting stagnant. Members of the studio said they were far more interested in making Fable 4 than Legends, a 4v1 co-op title in the vein of Evolve.
