Ex-Sonic lead Yuji Naka indicted for insider trading

Say it ain't so!

Ex-Sonic Team lead Yuji Naka has been formally indicted for insider trading offences.

As reported by NHK, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office’s Special Investigation Department (trying saying that ten times fast) has indicted both Naka and colleague Taisuke Sasaki for investing millions of yen in companies before certain news of them was made public.

Naka and Sasaki were both arrested in November over allegations of insider trading.

Naka left Sega to join Square Enix in 2018; when not allegedly investing money in companies Square Enix was about to work with, he worked on the ill-fated Balan Underworld.

We’ll have more on the story as it comes to light.
