PlayStation asks EVO attendees about their thoughts on NFTs

Oh, please, no.

EVO owner PlayStation has queried attendees of this past weekend’s event about their thoughts on NFTs, or non-fungible tokens.

A survey sighted by IGN has asked questions including “Which of the following NFT/ Digital Collectibles would you be most interested in purchasing?” with responses including “PlayStation Items, Favourite Game Characters,” and “Evo-branded” collectibles.

Several outlets have been quick to connect the EVO survey and “digital collectibles” that form part of PlayStation’s new Stars loyalty program, though Sony has already come out to say that it will “definitely not” include NFTs.

Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad has also taken to Twitter to say that, “this isn’t related to PlayStation Stars,” adding, “in this case digital collectables is just a term that is used interchangeably with NFTs.”

You can see a snippet of the survey below.
