Epic Games taking Rock Band, Unreal Tournament games offline

Rock Band 4 online multiplayer will continue.

Epic Games will take a number of Rock Band and Unreal Tournament games offline, the company has today announced.

Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 3 are among the listing of titles that will be sunsetted, though Rock Band 4 will continue to offer online multiplayer.

The full list of titles to be taken offline from 24 January 2023 are as follows:

  • 1000 Tiny Claws
  • Dance Central 1-3
  • Green Day: Rock Band
  • Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess
  • Rock Band 1-3
  • The Beatles: Rock Band
  • Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars
  • Unreal Gold
  • Unreal 2: The Awakening
  • Unreal Tournament 2003
  • Unreal Tournament 2004
  • Unreal Tournament 3
  • Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition

The titles above — alongside Hatoful Boyfriend and Hatoful Boyfriend Holiday Star — will also be removed for digital purchase from storefronts including Steam.

“We will begin turning off out-of-date online services and servers for many older games in the Epic family as we move to solely support Epic Online Services with its unified friends system, voice chat features, parental controls, and parental verification features,” the company said. “Most titles will be playable offline, while some will no longer be playable. We apologize to the players affected by these changes.”
