EB Games Australia advises of PS5 pre-order advancement error

A day after EB Games Australia contacted PS5 pre-order holders informing them that they’d been moved ahead in the queue and would receive their console on launch day, the retailer is emailing some to say that the email was sent in error.

“We have made a mistake regarding your PlayStation 5 order,” today’s email begins. “Yesterday, you were sent an SMS and an Email in error, advancing you in our queue.

“We regret to inform you that this is not the case, and your original place in the queue (POST LAUNCH 2020 SHIPMENT) still stands. We want to assure you, you still have a valid pre-order with EB Games.”

EB Games apologised to users for the “magnitude of the mistake” and “for the confusion and disappointment… caused.”

Though we’ve received several emails from readers who’ve had their hearts broken today, we’ve also contacted others who received the positive email yesterday and have seemingly been spared today’s. No reader who received a similar email in regards to the Xbox Series X has told Stevivor they’ve received a new email today.

As always, it’s best to check your EB Order History to see where you stand.

The Xbox Series X heads to store shelves on 10 November, followed by the PS5 on 12 November.
