EA is “very pleased” with BioWare’s new IP, delaying it up to 2019

Electronic Arts today announced that it is “very pleased” with BioWare’s new IP alongside confirmation it will be delayed up to 2019.

“We’re very pleased with the progress of our new action IP from BioWare,” Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson said. “The Design is stunning. Gameplay mechanics are excellent, and the action will be exhilarating. The game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we decided to add more to the disruptive new social design for our players.

“To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into fiscal year 2019.”

That time period falls between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2019.

The delay isn’t a response to criticism of BioWare’s latest, Mass Effect: Andromeda, EA also confirmed. According to DualShockers, EA is “very happy” with the developer, saying Andromeda is representative of BioWare’s “wonderful, beautiful, deep and rich worlds, amazing combat and amazing fast-paced multiplayer.”

We’ll have more on BioWare’s newest IP as it becomes available.
