Xbox One greaseproof controller celebrates PUBG 1.0

A limited-edition Xbox One greaseproof controller celebrates PUBG’s transition to a full retail game, Xbox One today announced.

Ten greaseproof controllers are up for grabs as part of the celebration, “designed with winning in mind,” Xbox Australia said. The special controller (shown above and below) has a special patented, hand-sprayed urethane coating that’s resistant to grease, oil, minor scratches and even water (though we won’t go taking it for a swim ourselves).

If you’re keen on getting your greasy hands on one of these controllers, all ten will be given away on the Xbox Australia and New Zealand Facebook page over this week.

“With such a massive player base, from the veterans of Erangel, to the Miramar rookies, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a game where truly anything can happen,” said Tania Chee, Xbox Lead for ANZ.

“The launch of 1.0 brings the much-anticipated Sanhok Map and much more to Xbox One, enhancing the experience of the fantastically popular game, and we’re happy to have created such special gear for the occasion.”

We’ve been told a greaseproof controller is headed to Stevivor — expect us to order a greasy-as pepperoni pizza and sit down with our favourite games soon in order to let you know how well it works.

PUBG is available now in full retail form on both Windows PC and Xbox One.
