The Diversion: Halo 3’s last Easter egg found after 7 long years

After seven long years — and ironic, considering Bungie and their love of the number — Halo 3‘s last Easter egg has been revealed.

Bungie’s Adrian Perez designed the egg for his wife Lauren. You can view it by pressing down both controller thumbsticks on Halo 3’s loading screen with your Xbox 360 set to 25 December. When done correctly, Halo’s titular Halo will be shown in a wider view, with the words “Happy Birthday Lauren” appearing on the side.

“Showing my wife the Easter egg I put in the Halo 3 loading screen for her – the one that nobody has found yet,” Perez recently said, prompting those to hunt.

Halo 3 will be included as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, due out this year on Xbox One.
