Sony to plant 288,000+ trees in the name of Horizon Forbidden West

But you'll need to help with some Trophy hunting.

Sony has pledged to plant more than 288,000 trees in a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation in the name of Horizon Forbidden Westand it needs players’ help to do it.

PlayStation today announced it will plant one tree for every player that earns Forbidden West‘s “Reached the Daunt” Trophy, earned through main quest progression roughly 1.5 to 2 hours into the title.

Sony advised it will plant as many trees as required — somewhere around that 288,000 mark — to complete three total reforestation projects, with the endeavour capped at those projects or by a 25 March deadline. The projects include plantings at Douglas County Forest, Sheep Fire Private Lands and Torreya State Park, all in the United States of America. While the initiative is US-based, it doesn’t appear to require Trophy unlocks from solely US-based players.

Horizon Forbidden West heads to PS4 and PS5 on 18 February; we reviewed it here.
