Nintendo characters go gay for one another thanks to Last Week Tonight

Turnabout is fairplay, right? Even though Nintendo wasn’t trying to make social commentary on same-sex relationships in Tomodachi Life, that’s what happened. Now, HBO news-satire show Last Week Tonight has made some social commentary of their own.

The show’s graphics department went crazy the other night, portraying some of Nintendo’s core characters as homosexual.

The video below shows what would happen if Toad and Donkey Kong could get married and apply for pensions, amongst other scenarios.

Overall, the situation provided for some pretty adorable pairings, if you ask us. Check them out in the gallery below.

Donkey Kong sure gets around, eh?

What do you think of a far-more gay friendly Nintendo?
