Dead by Daylight’s Quentin gets a HUGE glow up on the PTB

Oh no, he's hot!

Dead by Daylight is reworking character models on its Public Test Build (PTB) server, and players have been shocked to find ‘goblin boy’ Quentin Smith has received a huge glow up.

Update: The update is now live on all platforms apart from Switch — read more here.

Smith is a survivor character released alongside iconic killer Freddy Kruger; both appeared in 2010’s Nightmare on Elm Street reboot.

Kyle Gallner, the actor who portrayed Smith in the film, has been unhappy with the way in which the character appears in-game, even taking to Twitter about it.

Yo [Behaviour Interactive], I have been getting hit up quite a bit about my character Quentin from Nightmare looking like a goblin version me and how people want the character to be in my likeness,” Gallner wrote. “Just make him look like me.”

While the new Quentin doesn’t appear to look like Gallner, he certainly received a beneficial makeover. You can check out the old (left) and new (right) versions of Quentin above (with thanks to Reddit).

A number of other characters have received reworks to their models including Kate, Meg, Laurie and more. We’ll let you know when the changes are out in the wild.

Dead by Daylight is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5 and Switch; its 5th anniversary event is on now.
