The Diversion: Cortana’s pretty good at predicting the outcome of sports matches

Sure, Madden NFL correctly simulated the score of this year’s Super Bowl, but Microsoft’s Cortana seems to be better at consistently predicting the outcome of sports matches.

The Windows Phone — soon to be Windows 10 — assistant got almost all of the World Cup’s knockout matches correct, and has since moved onto NFL games.

As of late, the AI has started predicting Barclays Premier League matches in the UK, using Bing-analysed historical match data. You can read about Cortana’s UK stint here.

Would you ask Cortana for the outcomes of AFL or NRL matches before heading down to your local TAB?
