Diablo III: New Necromancer hero, 20th anniversary Dungeon and more on the way

Blizzard is celebrating twenty years of Diablo with a wealth of new content inside Diablo III.

Announced at BlizzCon this year was a new hero class, the Necromancer, alongside a new 20th anniversary Dungeon.

The Necromancer wields magic through “the power of blood and bone,” Blizzard detailed. She’ll be able to command an army of the dead, control a Blood Golem and make corpses explode.

The “Rise of the Necromancer” Pack will contain the new hero alongside an in-game pet, two character slots, two stash tabs, a portrait frame, pennant, banner and banner sigil.

Moreover, the game’s new 20th anniversary Dungeon will recreate events, monsters and levels from the original Diablo. It will also be presented in what Blizzard calls “RetroVision”, offering up 90s-inspired audio and visual filters.

Diablo III will also receive two new zones — Shrouded Doors and Temple of the Firstborn — alongside new PC and console Seasons, which will include the Season Journey, leaderboards and new rewards.
