Deus Ex “is not dead”, says Eidos Montreal

Deus Ex is not dead,” Eidos Montréal studio head, David Anfossi, has asserted.

Anfossi, made the proclamation in a conversation with PCGamesN.

Deus Ex is not dead, I confirm that,” Anfossi began.

According to Anfossi, it’s just that Eidos Montréal has its hands full at the moment.

Deus Ex, of course, it’s the brand of the studio. We are all attached to this franchise, but we cannot do everything, you know? So we have Shadow of the Tomb Raider, we have this co-development with Crystal [Dynamics] on The Avengers, and we have a third game in development, so it’s enough at the moment for us.”

The studio’s third title hasn’t been detailed as yet, though Anfossi has shot down rumours of a new iteration in the Thief franchise.

Are you holding out for a new Deus Ex title? Why or why not?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the latest in the franchise — we reviewed it in 2016 here.
