Destiny Rising is a mobile game set in an alternate timeline

What?

Destiny Rising is the name of a newly announced mobile game that will be developed by Netease and take place within an alternate timeline to Bungie’s Destiny and Destiny 2.

Destiny Rising is a mobile RPG shooter, featuring multi-character-focused action and a wide range of gameplay modes, all set within the Destiny universe,” Netease detailed.

“This means that you’ll get to play as a growing roster of characters, each with their own unique play styles, abilities, and gear that you’ll work toward leveling up and empowering by progressing through the main campaign’s storyline and a variety of activities.”

Destiny: Rising is set in an alternate timeline, many years before Destiny 1 & 2,” Netease continued. This timeline allows for a different exploration of how humanity began to rise from the ashes of the Collapse, when invaders from beyond the stars brought an end to what was once a golden age.”

An alpha for the game will start on 2 November here in Australia; if you’re interested, you can pre-register for that alpha here.

Expect Destiny Rising on both Android and iOS devices.
