Destiny: Frequent Trials of Osiris cheaters are being issued with permabans

Bungie today advised that frequent Trials of Osiris cheaters are being issued permanent console bans inside Destiny in an effort to keep the competitive game mode fair.

Bungie’s ban system has three main tiers — activity bans, account bans and permanent bans. The first two (perhaps obviously) are temporary measures, but the latter sticks.

The banhammer is swinging due to player concerns that Trials of Osiris is almost becoming unplayable. In October, players took to Reddit to complain of DDoS and other shady tactics being used by cheaters trying to get their Guardians to the Lighthouse.

Destiny is available now on Xbox One and PS4.
