Destiny 2 Whisper of the Worm quest no longer available

Update: The quest is back! Happy hunting!

Original story: The Destiny 2 Whisper of the Worm quest is no longer available to Guardians, Bungie has recently confirmed.

“Anomaly is closing in 12 hours,” Bungie wrote yesterday in reference to the special portal that opens as part of a Public Event on Io.

That means Aussie Guardians lost access to the quest at 3.00am AEST this morning.

Not to worry though — the quest will come back.

“Our calculations show it will reopen next week,” the tweet continues.

We’re unsure as to when the event will be reopened, but we’ll report back as more is known.

The quest has Destiny 2 players foaming at the mouth — a tough, timed challenge, the quest offers the powerful Whisper of the Worm sniper rifle, a weapon comparable to the original Destiny‘s Black Spindle.

Have you had a chance to obtain the sniper? Are you okay having to wait a week to try again if not?

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
