Destiny 2 Season 2 brings Ice hockey, DLC and more

Destiny 2 Season 2 was recently detailed in a livestream by developer Bungie.

Bungie used the time to explain that each year of the game will be split into 4 Seasons, just like in real-life. We’re about to enter Season 2, themed for the Winter that our friends in the Northern hemisphere are about to enter into.

To kick off Season 2, the game’s football pitches will be replaced by ice rinks and ice hockey. The Dawning event will also return, this time decorating more than just social spaces with festive cheer. The Dawning will also bring new maps to the game, which will be added to normal rotation after the event ends.

Bungie also detailed changes to the Clan system that will take place in Season 2. Clans will have Daily and Weekly Milestones to complete, as well as special Milestones tied to events like Iron Banner and The Dawning. Clans will also scale to keep things fair between groups large and small.

Faction Rally will also return, this time offering incentives to those who complete tasks as a fireteam. The changes are meant to de-incentivise solo farming of Tokens.

Most importantly, Season 2 will feature the game’s first piece of DLC, “Curse of Osiris”. An exact release date for the DLC (not to mention specifics about its content) have not been announced.

There’s a great recap post on Reddit if you missed the livestream.

Destiny 2 heads to PC later in the week and is already available on Xbox One and PS4.
