Destiny 2 goes offline tonight to prepare for cross-saves

Destiny 2 will be taken offline for maintenance tonight to prepare for cross-saves, developer Bungie has today confirmed.

The work begins at 12.01 am AEST on Friday, 28 June and will last 12 hours, running until 12.01 pm AEST on the same day.

“This is to prepare for Cross Save in Destiny 2 later this fall,” Bungie has advised, though it’s unclear if we’ll be able to take advantage of the functionality when maintenance concludes. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

Once thought to exclude Stadia (when available), Bungie’s since detailed that cross-saves will work between Xbox One, PS4, PC and Stadia; a post here describes how that will happen.

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4; it heads to Stadia later in the year.
