Destiny 2 goes full-blown Star Wars by the end of the year

Yep, that's a lightsaber.

Destiny 2 will add Star Wars blasters and lightsabers as part of its Renegades expansion in December of this year.

“Inspired by the legendary Star Wars universe, Renegades merges Destiny’s distinctive storytelling and gameplay with themes and elements drawn from the iconic sci-fi franchise,” Bungie advised in a new post.

“The reveal featured a brief cinematic teaser showcasing Renegades, a definitive Destiny expansion with a narrative integral to the Fate Saga, while also suffused with inspiration from and homage to Star Wars. Renegades will introduce new Destiny characters, innovative activities, and evolved mechanics designed to surprise and delight players.”

You can take a look at Bungie’s brief tease above.

The studio made the tease as part of a larger announcement of The Year of Fate, which will also include a July 2025 expansion called The Edge of Fate.

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
