Demon’s Souls PS3 servers to shut down in February 2018

Demon’s Souls’ PS3 servers will be shut down early next year, Sony and Atlus recently confirmed.

The servers will be shut down on 28 February 2018, Atlus revealed. While the game will still be playable from start to finish, any online functionality including in-game messaging, World Tendancy features and player death locations will become unavailable.

For those lamenting the closure of the game’s servers, you’re not alone — Altus took to its blog so that staff should share their fondest memories of the game. There’s some real good ones in there, too.

Demon’s Souls is the one that started it all, from the Dark Souls series, to Bloodborne, to any number of clones.
