Death Stranding review embargo broken by rogue tweet

The Death Stranding review embargo time and date has been set for this coming Friday, but that didn’t stop one reviewer from getting his opinion in early.

“Tomorrow is in my hands, and it is breathtaking, easily one of the most unique and stunning experiences I’ve had in all my years of gaming,” Peter Tieryas tweeted yesterday while acknowledging a review embargo was in place.

“More thoughts on Death Stranding to come after the November 1st embargo,” the writer, who has contributed to outlets like IGN and Kotaku, concluded.

Kojima Productions’ English language account retweeted the tweet, going as far as to call it a “review”.

“Thank you so much, Mr. Peter Tieryas,” the account wrote. “American writer, known for his Sci-Fi novels ‘United States of Japan’, has reviewed our game, and made a great teaser comment!”

As you’ll see when trying to access the tweets, both have since been removed.

The Death Stranding review embargo is set for 6.01 pm AEDT on Friday, 1 November (or check your timezone here). You can expect our thoughts then.

Death Stranding heads to PS4 on 8 November 2019 and then Windows PC in mid 2020.
