Death Stranding iOS release coming 30 January

Time to jump in?

The Death Stranding iOS release has been set for 30 January, Kojima Productions and 505 Games have today revealed.

What’s more, the title will be offered as a universal purchase, so playable on iPhone 15 Pro alongside all iPad and Mac devices with M-series chips. While the title will be properly priced at $59.99 AUD ($39.99 USD), it’s currently discounted at 50% off, or $29.99 AUD ($19.99 USD).

The version on offer is the Director’s Cut, which lets players “explore locations such as a dangerous underground factory, take on expanded story missions, and equip Sam with a wealth of new delivery assists like cargo catapults and a newly-added stabilizer function.”

We reviewed the title previously, finding it self-indulgent in places.

“[A] notion of connection and working together truly is brilliant but is repeatedly overshadowed by the likes of [characters] Deadman and Heartman insisting that working together will not only save America, but everyone within it,” we wrote. “Show, Kojima – don’t tell.”

We’ve also recently addressed the iPhone 15 Pro when it comes to gaming, saying the device is “an unnecessary gaming powerhouse”. You can read our thoughts, which focused around Resident Evil Village, here.

Death Stranding is currently available on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, and Mac. It heads to supported iOS and iPad devices on 30 January 2024.
