Death Stranding 2’s first 15 minutes has actual gameplay

Worried about cutscene after cutscene? This looks promising...

Death Stranding 2 is out now in early access to those who’ve shelled out more cash, and its first 15 minutes shows off actual gameplay amidst polished cutscenes.

The first fifteen minutes of the game is presented below, though of course spoilers are contained within.

In addition to standard Death Stranding gameplay — get ready to hold L2 and R2 to steady yourself — you can get your first glimpses of the world that Sam finds himself in.

It all looks incredibly photorealistic and beautiful — I personally can’t wait to see what Australia will look like, shown through the lens of the always quirky Hideo Kojima.

If you’re not ready to watch the opening of the game, you may instead want to watch Death Stranding 2′s recap of the original Death Stranding. This presentation gave me a chuckle, mostly because of all the instances of “as you may remember” littered throughout some crazy narration (offered up by none other than Guillermo del Toro).

Spoilers, of course, also follow in the below recap.

Death Stranding 2 is out now in early access, but otherwise heads to PS5 on 26 June. We’re working to get Jam a review code to get cracking on, so expect their thoughts in the coming weeks.
