Custom gamerpic uploads disabled by Xbox in face of coronavirus

Xbox has turned off custom gamerpic uploads alongside club pic and club background uploads because there are too many for its moderators to double-check at this point.

“As people look to gaming for social connection, we’re seeing record numbers across Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Live, and Mixer. To streamline moderation and ensure the best experience for our community, we’re making small adjustments,” a notice on the Xbox Support page reads.

“We’ve temporarily turned off the ability to upload custom gamerpics, club pics and club backgrounds.”

It makes sense, really — I’d rather see a generic gamerpic than a custom pic uploaded to one’s account while they’re taking to Xbox and self-isolating.

We’ll let you know when the customisation is re-enabled.
