CS: GO goes free-to-play, adds Danger Zone battle royale mode

CS:GO, or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, has gone free-to-play alongside the arrival of its new battle royale mode, Danger Zone.

The news today drops the game from its $14.99 USD price point to free, and adds Danger Zone as a competitor to the likes of PUBG, Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s Blackout.

Danger Zone will use a single map, called Blacksite, and offers solo, duo or trios play.

To celebrate the change, Valve has released a new in-game cosmetic set, called the Danger Zone case. It sprots 17 new finishes and horizon knives.
