Control August update accessibility options detailed

Alongside Control‘s AWE expansion, developer Remedy Games will introduce a host of new accessibility options in the month of August via a free update.

“The assist mode… is a set of game features that can be enabled or disabled separately from each other in Control‘s options menu,” Community Manager, Vida Starčević, said in a livestream overnight. “Assist mode lets you modify the rules of the game to suit your specific needs. It’s important to us that as many people as possible get to experience Control the way they want.

“You can now influence, for example, how fast Jesse’s energy regenerates, how soon the Service Weapon reloads itself, how much damage Jesse takes from enemies… how much damage she deals… and if she can die in combat.”

The update will also introduce soft checkpoints in boss fights, additional Control Point checkpoints and a new Multi-Launch skill.

Control is currently available on Windows PC via Epic Games Store, Xbox One and PS4. AWE heads to those platforms — and also launches the game on Windows PC via Steam — on 27 August. A next-gen upgrade path on both PS5 and Xbox Series X will become available for purchase in September.
