Control Alan Wake DLC furthers the story of the original game

The highly anticipated Control Alan Wake DLC will further the story of 2010’s Alan Wake, Remedy Creative Director, Sam Lake, has confirmed.

Speaking with Game Informer, Lake stressed that AWE will help to inform players about what actually took place in Alan Wake using Control‘s Federal Bureau of Control and its established investigation techniques.

“We have this opportunity of looking back at what happened in Alan Wake and how does the Bureau see it,” Lake said. “Well, there was this otherworldly event that took place in Bright Falls and they suddenly have this terminology. We have people that say, ‘I loved Alan Wake but I didn’t quite understand what happened, and now I played Control and I understand what happened in Alan Wake!’”

It’s more than a look into the past though, Lake confirmed.

“I can say that you will find out more about the Bureau’s research on what happened in Alan Wake and where they are with it today,” he continued.

Alan Wake is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One and will soon head to Xbox Game Pass on both current-gen platforms. Control is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4; the AWE DLC is expected soon.
