Classic PlayStation themes once again available on PS5

Hurrah!

Classic PlayStation themes are once again available on the PS5, following an extremely positive reaction to PlayStation anniversary themes made available for a limited time late last year.

“During our 30th anniversary celebrations, we surprised our fans with a limited time selection of nostalgic customization features for the PS5 System UI to honor the four PlayStation consoles that paved the way for PS5: PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4,” Sony said in a new update.

“Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from our community, we’re happy to bring back the look and feel of the four console designs for players to customize the home screen on PS5!”

Those who’d like to re-enable the themes can do so from Settings > System > Appearance, selecting either PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, or PlayStation 4.

The themes — which appear to be a permanent offering — come alongside new update available from today. It also adds a new Audio Focus feature detailed on the PlayStation Blog.
