Clarice is a new TV show set after Silence of the Lambs

Clarice is a crime drama set after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, CBS has confirmed.

Coming from Star Trek: Discovery‘s Secret Hideout, the show will focus on FBI agent Clarice Starling following the events of the film, itself based on a book by Thomas Harris.

While a sequel written by Harris, Hannibal, also featured Starling, it was set ten years after the events of the original. This new TV concept is one year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs; as such, it’s unlikely to feature Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Hannibal was also made into a film; Anthony Hopkins reprised his role as Dr. Lecter while Julianne Moore took over from Jodie Foster as Starling.

“After more than 20 years of silence, we’re privileged to give voice to one of America’s most enduring heroes – Clarice Starling,” co-show writers and Executive Producers, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet, told Deadline.
