Call of Duty Vanguard alpha starts this weekend on PlayStation

(Most) all PS4 and PS5 owners can take part.

A special Call of Duty Vanguard alpha will take place this weekend on both PS4 and PS5 and is open to most PlayStation owners.

Here within Australia, the alpha kicks off at 3.00 am AEST on 28 August and will run until 3.00 am AEST on 30 August. It will give players their first look at the new Champion Hill game mode.

“This PlayStation-exclusive Alpha isn’t only the first chance at playing the newest Multiplayer mode in the Call of Duty franchise, but also the first opportunity to play Call of Duty: Vanguard before its November 5 release,” Activision Blizzard’s James Mattone added.

“This will be just a small slice of the overall Multiplayer offering coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard when it launches, but is a great chance for PlayStation players to get their hands on the game and provide valuable feedback to Sledgehammer Games.”

To take part, you’ll need a PS4 or PS5 and an internet connection. In most parts of the world, PlayStation Plus is not required to play, though will be necessary in Germany due to local classification laws. In Japan, “a nominal fee” will be taken in order to play for much the same reason.

Call of Duty Vanguard heads to Windows PC, Xbox and PlayStation from 5 November 2021.
