Call of Duty Modern Warfare has a PS4-exclusive mode

Call of Duty Modern Warfare has a one-year PS4-exclusive mode called Survival Mode, it was revealed yesterday.

The exclusive mode was mentioned as part of Modern Warfare‘s story trailer reveal during the PlayStation State of Play livestream yesterday. The trailer features a title card that reads, “Special Ops Survival Mode, play first on PS4” followed by a smaller disclaimer that reads, “Timed Exclusive Content Until October 1, 2020.”

Infinity Ward’s Taylor Kurosaki took to Twitter to reassure fans that, “you can play Spec Ops and every new bit of content we drop, day one. The only timed exclusivity is Survival, which is a sliver of Spec Ops.”

Earlier this month, Infinity Ward and Activision confirmed that Modern Warfare would do away with PS4-exclusive maps and modes, a move that makes sense considering all multiplayer offerings will offer cross-play between Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 25 October.
