Borderlands GOTY comes alongside ultra HD textures for existing games

Ahead of more information on Borderlands 3, Gearbox will release a remastered version of the original Borderlands game alongside free Ultra HD textures for existing games in early April.

First, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 3 April. “With brand new weapons, substantial visual upgrades, quality of life improvements, all four add-on packs, and more, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is the brand new definitive version of the award-winning 2009 first-person shooter/role-playing game hybrid Borderlands, available now for the first time on current generation consoles,” Gearbox and 2K said in a press release.

Moreover, a free, optional download will introduce Ultra HD textures and improved resolution on exisint titles Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.”

“Players will best appreciate all the added detail at 4K resolution, but improvements can be enjoyed on other displays as well,” 2K said. The downloads will also be available from 3 April.

Post-April, Gearbox will also bring all of Borderlands 2‘s DLC into Borderlands 2 VR on PSVR.
