Borderlands 3 PC cloud save hotfix in place while bug is addressed

Borderlands 3 PC cloud save hotfix has been enabled in an effort to stop players from losing their progress, 2K and Gearbox have confirmed.

PC players are complaining of a mixture of game crashes and cloud save synchronisation behaviour that can corrupt a player’s cloud save and then force local saves to then corrupt as well. The hotfix means that players will now be prompted before a cloud save synchronisation takes place, meaning they can elect to stop the sync and use a non-corrupted local save instead.

If you’ve already been impacted by the bug, it’s sadly too late.

“We understand just how frustrating this situation is for those who have been affected, so we’re working with our partners at Epic to monitor the situation and ensure the issue gets fully resolved,” a 2K rep said to Kotaku, speaking about the bug. “We’re listening closely to our community and players, and will continue to do all we can to ensure the best experience possible for everyone.”

Borderlands 3 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4; the PC version is exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
