Borderlands 3 confirmed by Gearbox with crazy new trailer

Borderlands 3 was today officially confirmed by developer Gearbox at PAX East in Boston. Here’s what we know of the game so far.

First, a developer trailer kicked things off. Seen below, it references that players will be saving “the worlds” so it’s likely we’ll be moving away from Pandora exclusively. Apart from whatever other details you can gleam from the trailer, other information was a bit scarce.

Semi-related, Gearbox used the announcement to confirm that a remastered version of the original game, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will launch on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on April 3. Gearbox has also planned Ultra HD texture packs for the other Borderlands titles including The Handsome Collection, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, upping resolution to 4K on supported consoles. Coincidentally, that same day — 3 April — is the same one that Gearbox has promised more information about Borderlands 3 itself. We’ll keep you posted.

Post-April, Gearbox will also bring all of Borderlands 2‘s DLC into Borderlands 2 VR on PSVR.

We’ll have more on Borderlands 3 as it’s made available. The title’s expected on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
