Big Games Night In offers free Aussie games on 3 October

ACMI is helping us sample some of the finest local games on offer...

Big Games Night In will offer up free access to a number of locally-made games on 3 October as part of Melbourne International Games Week.

The titles have been curated by ACMI and will be offered up for free play on the day.

A selection of the available includes:

  • Completely Stretchy and Uncomfortably Sticky (Daniel Ferguson)
  • Unpacking (Witchbeam Games)
  • Trios (Samurai Punk)
  • Spiritwell (David Chen)
  • Topography (Cecile Richard)
  • A Long Goodbye (Dana McKay)
  • Ring of Pain (Twice Different)
  • Moving Out (SMG Studio)

A special Discord server will also be set up from 3 October so players can “connect with game developers”, according to a press release.

It’s unclear as to how the titles will be made available to players, but we’ll find out via ACMI’s website on the day.

Melbourne International Games Week runs over 2-10 October and includes the likes of Big Games Night In, Games for Change, the Australian Game Developer Awards (AGDAs)PAX AUS Online, a free two-day conference on audio design and the Melbourne Queer Games Festival 2021.
