Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition coming 2024

And we know this because the game accidentally went out early...

Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition has been confirmed by Ubisoft for a 2024 release after the title accidentally went live to a number of players.

After eagle-eyed players spotted the title’s (now removed) listing, some were even able to download it and begin playing.

“Embark on this epic adventure in up to 4K and 60 fps with improved graphics, controls, and audio, along with brand-new autosave and cross-save features,” the listing read. “Enjoy exclusive new rewards as you explore the planet and discover more about Jade’s past in a new treasure hunt throughout Hillys.

“Put your skills to the test thanks to the new speedrun mode and updated achievements, and learn more about the game’s development and secrets in the anniversary gallery.”

Ubisoft later confirmed the title’s existence and provided details of an “early 2024” release date.

“Due to a technical error, an early development version of Beyond Good & Evil – 20th Anniversary Edition was recently released to some Ubisoft+ subscribers,” a Ubisoft spokesperson said. “As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Beyond Good & Evil, we’re excited to share that the official launch is set for early 2024, and we look forward to sharing more with you in the new year.”

While the news of Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition will likely be welcomed by fans, we’re sure they’re more excited about a status update for Beyond Good & Evil 2. Announced way back in 2017 — the same time as the still unreleased Skull & Bones — Ubisoft has largely gone quiet when it comes to the highly anticipated sequel.

To its credit, Ubi did say back at the start of this year that work on the sequel is still underway.

We’ll let you when exactly to expect Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition when it’s known.
