Beware of a Halo Infinite save corruption bug

Thankfully, some users have figured out how to avoid it.

Halo Infinite save corruption bug is making the rounds, causing players to lose all campaign progression if impacted.

According to user Dustin K, the save file corruption occurs when Halo Infinite acknowledges a second profile logged in. Players will know if they’ve encountered the bug on PC when Infinite throws a player back to the main menu with a welcome screen. Those who don’t immediately quit Infinite and instead click “Let’s Go” to continue will find their save wiped.

“For Xbox users, be very careful with using the quick resume feature,” Dustin K wrote. “If you have been playing a different game that is coop, and multiple people were signed in on the same account, when you load up Halo you will still be double signed in. If you load your save game at that point, it will break it.”

Dustin K demonstrates the bug in the video below.

We’ll report back as soon as 343 Industries acknowledges the issue and provides further updates.

Halo Infinite is now live on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. Check out our Halo Infinite review here and our collectibles guide here.
