Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game is an Xbox console exclusive

Gaming is for everyone... on specific platforms.

Bethesda’s upcoming Indiana Jones was planned as a multi-console release but will now be an Xbox console exclusive, it’s recently been revealed.

Head of publishing Pete Hines made the revelation as part of a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) hearing about Microsoft’s planned acquisition of Activision Blizzard (via Polygon).

Announced back in January 2021, months before Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda was finalised, Hines said that MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones game was initially agreed to be a multi-console title with rights owner Disney. The contract was later changed to make the title exclusive to Xbox consoles.

Hines said that Bethesda had signed the agreement with Disney ahead of the Microsoft acquisition, adding that Disney indeed wanted the reach of the game to be “as large as possible”.

We’ll keep you informed as we learn more of the Indiana Jones title.
