Bethesda parent company ZeniMax purchases Escalation Studios

Last week, Bethesda’s parent company, ZeniMax, announced it has acquired the Dallas, Texas-based Escalation Studios.

The studio assisted id Software with Doom, and released Please Don’t Touch Anything to PC and Mac in December 2016.

“We have continually been impressed with the team at Escalation that Tom [Mustraine] and Marc [Tardif] have assembled,” said Todd Vaughn, Vice President of Development at Bethesda. “Their commitment to quality and innovation has made significant contributions to the projects we’ve worked on together, and we’re excited to have them join ZeniMax.”

The acquisition now places five studios in-house at Bethesda. Those studios include id Software (Doom), Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey), Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within), MachineGames (Wolfenstein) and BattleCry Studios (Battlecry).
