Some of the best Star Trek movies heading to Amazon Prime Video

Some of the best Star Trek movies will head to Amazon Prime Video at the end of this month, it was recently revealed.

Ahead of the launch of Star Trek: Picard on Amazon Prime Video later this year, Trekkies can stream the following Trek feature films from 31 July:

  • Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
  • Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
  • Star Trek: First Contact
  • Star Trek: Insurrection
  • Star Trek: Nemesis

If you’re a fan of the Trek films, you’ll likely know that even-numbered entries in the series are considered the best — The Voyage Home, The Undiscovered Country and First Contact (number 8, for those counting) certainly fit the bill, while Nemesis at number 10 is also noteworthy because it features Picard’s final canon adventure and is certain to factor into the new television show. Really, the only other good Trek we’re missing is Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

In Australia, every Star Trek television series — including The Animated Series and the ongoing Star Trek: Discovery — is available for viewing on Netflix. The feature films are unavailable, though Amazon Prime Video will soon have us covered to some degree.
